Antitrust suggests 5-yr imprisonment for collusion in tenders

MOSCOW, May 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service offers to sentence the people accused of collusions between organizers of tenders and participants for up to five years in prison, according to the documents seen by PRIME on Wednesday.

The current tender legislation includes no responsibility for anti-competitive behavior between an organizer and a participant.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered the service to submit amendments toughening responsibility for establishment of cartels to the government until May 21.
